The Royal Spanish Academy of language defines training as “do right (skillful, expert in a trade or profession), teach, instruct”. Its second meaning gets us already a little on our theme: “training, taming an animal”. One of the meanings of educating presents as “teaching the good uses of civility and courtesy” and when it defines education says the dictionary that is a “set of disciplines and exercises aimed at achieving bodily perfection and development”. Traditionally when we refer to a dog (or any other animal) refers to training or trainer.
A few days ago, in the time between the end of one of my classes and the beginning of another, died watched with attention to a couple of children of not more than 10 years playing in the grass with a puppy’s Golden Retriever that does not exceed 4 months. The doggy dans online dog trainer review was running behind them, prompted by their cries and fuss, jumping on top of them with frenzy. Children threw on the ground, encouraging that the “or doggy” in question is go up him up, licking them the face and hands; even some mordisquito escaped, clearly influenced by the excitement of the moment. As it is normal in children of this age, games became a point of”boredom” and these small lads “invented” a new game with your dog that was to take him by the legs and carry it as if it were a sack. Fortunately for the dog also people were they bored Presidency quickly.
When the owner of a dog called an educator canine, in the majority of cases it is usually because you have a problem. One whose dog sits, lies down, stays still, attends the call, does not give any headache at home, does not require the services of a company’s training. When are these problems of coexistence? In a vast majority of cases is in the phase or period of maturity that can be framed approximately from the first year of life. The commentary is usually always more or less the same when a problem appears for the first time: “he began to behave so suddenly, from one day to another”.
Most of the problems are reinforced by the owner in his puppy stage. “It was very funny that it rise to the sofa…”, “liked long jump on my legs and I spoke to him and stroked him…” are very clear examples and that recur regularly. What is not intended at that time is that tender, friendly, cuddly and small puppy for 3 months, in short, will become a big and strong adult who will continue to rise to sofa (appropriating of it), its owner and which caught ahead, with the risk that this entails.
Educate, i.e. “put disciplinary guidelines and exercises aimed at achieving development and body perfection”, is basic and indispensable since the beginning of our relationship with the dog. This education is intimately linked to the training, basic in the most frequent case, that we will allow to have the maximum control over the actions of our friend. We put a number of mandatory rules on compliance and encourage them from the moment we entered through the door of the House with our new partner. Get a proper hygienic conduct at home, rewarding when it evacuates in the right place, praise those correct behaviours within the home, set up a few times as regular as possible to eat, get him to stay only at home in a way most progressive possible…, are some of the guidelines that we have to teach the dog.
In the example that I mentioned at the beginning of this article would be suitable to educate children about how to play with your puppy, what should be encouraged and what are the actions that should ignore or correct (promote a soft mouth which is not abrupt ignoring you if so…), how should talk initially (don’t be too imperatives, not to shout use pleasant tones…), how should touch him (not be abrupt, pet for hair, reward when touch you and it is quiet…) and could even involve them in a pre-adiestramiento, so the bond between them would be greatly strengthened.
All this work is basic, fundamental and very important to that within a year (or maybe less) we do not have a hyperactive dog, uneducated and problematic that could destroy the illusions that we had to our mascot and which has as a consequence that the relationship perro-dueno – dog be affected seriously. Leaving aside the sports work I do and in my humble opinion, I will continue saying that I am and consider myself a canine educator.
